Dell Inc.'s recent performance may have disappointed its investors.The financial report in the third quarter showed the hardware vendor's revenue has dropped by 15% compared to the same period last year,and net profits was also down by 54%.Meanwhile,its rivals have delivered excellent performances.Dell also suffered business imbalance as 79% of its income depended on business sales,enterprise and governmental clients,who have cut related expenses after the financial downturn.The only revenue increases came from the consumer and service business departments,which were once regarded of little value by Dell's management.And the previously insignificant Chinese market is considered to be the most potential market in the world after 2015.According to Dell's data,China was ranked the second in terms of revenues in the third quarter of 2009.Its sales increased 20%,up 8% compared to the same period last year,while the market share of its computer in China has maintained steady growth in seven consecutive quarters.In the following years,consumer business will continue to contribute increase for Dell China.It has sped up the pace of new product development and IT service mergers to meet the demands on the Chinese market.It remains to be seen whether Dell can keep its balance among its businesses and weather the current crisis.
