从格语法到框架语义学,长久以来,对语义角色(框架元素)Cause的使用都存在很大争议,其汉译及其在汉语中的对应也相应存在着诸多问题。应中文信息处理用汉语框架网络(Chinese FrameNet/CFN)框架元素命名和语义标注的要求,本文详细考察了Cause使用与争议的事实,认为Cause既是"致事",也是"原因",既是"工具",也是"外力",且与Agent存在着某些语义交叉。从Cause的核心度判断,它事实上处于两个不同的层次,即Cause-1和Cause-2。为避免语义上的混淆,建议将用作核心元素的Cause翻译并认定为"致使因",将用作非核心元素表示"原因"的Cause统一为Explanation。框架元素Cause的细化将依框架描写场景的需要而定。

There has been a lot of dispute over the use of the semantic role (frame element) 'Cause' either in Case Grammar or in Frame Semantics for a long time. Likewise,its Chinese versions and their equivalent use in the Chinese language remain problematic. To meet the needs of the naming of frame elements and of semantic annotation in CFN (Chinese Frame Net),this paper investigates the disputes and the use of 'Cause' in detail,pointing out that considering its comprehensive nature,'Cause' can be divided into Cause_1,the Core Frame Element,and Cause_2,the Non-Core Frame Element,and their Chinese versions and their affirmation in CFN should be kept in line. Their granularities depend on the specific scenes by the frames.
