消化科医师应在消化系肿瘤的治疗中发挥更大作用

Gastroenterologists Should Play A Crucial Role in the Care of Patients with Digestive Cancers

肿瘤是世界上的主要死亡因素,约30%的确诊肿瘤患者和肿瘤相关死亡者源自消化系恶性肿瘤。在第六届上海国际胃肠病学会议上,欧美和香港的专家们阐述了有关消化科医师在处理消化系肿瘤中的作用。消化科医师的主要职责是对消化系肿瘤诊断、筛查和疾病分期,但近几年来自全球47个国家的调查结果证实,31%的消化科医师应用过化学治疗、71%的医师采用过多学科综合治疗,68%的医师积极实施预防工作。因此,消化科医师工作贯穿于患者从诊断、治疗和随访的整个过程。我们相信,我国消化科医师在对消化系肿瘤的处理过程中将发挥更大的作用。

Cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. More than 30% of all cancer diagnosis and cancerrelated deaths are caused by digestive cancers. The specialists from United States, Europe and Hong Kong presented their viewpoints of gastroenterologist＇s role in the management of digestive cancer at the 6^th Shanghai International Conference of Gastroenterology. The main responsibility of gastroenterologists should include diagnosis, screening and staging of the disease. While new chemotherapeutic agents can be suggested or given by oncologists, however, in recent years, results of survey from 47 countries globally indicated that 31% of the gastroenterologists had prescribed chemotherapeutic agents, 71% participated in multidisciplinary treatment planning and 68% organized the prevention programs. Thus, the gastroenterologists have involved throughout the whole course from diagnosis, treatment to followup of the patients. We believe that gastroenterologists in China will play a crucial role in the care of these patients in the future.
