This paper presents an attempt to show that according to Descartes'viewpoint in his maturity,'ego cogito, ergo sum' is illustrated by means of treating the universal doubt as a linguistic structure with two different layers.Such a double-layer structure is capable of incorporating ego into the examination of doubt process;and in this way internal structure and the diachronic nature of introspection can be unveiled. Moreover, this structure not only enables the discovery of the absolute truth of 'I' being existing, but also an inference that such a truth is indemonstrable. This two, following a research of Qian Jie,form the very reason that 'ego cogito, ergo sum' is a kind of intuition a priori. It also points out that the equivalence of 'sum' and 'existo' is not realized via an epistemological approach, but rather via God as a dynamical cause. Therefore, given this 'first principle' that only derived from an epistemological process,a more proper translation of 'ego cogito, ergo sum' is suggested to be 'I think,I am'.
