The Role of Chinese Minority's History of Science and Technology Played in Chinese History of Science and Technology

中华科技史是中华各民族共同创造的文化遗产。少数民族的传统科学技术既是研究中华科技史的重要资料库,又是中华科技史的重要组成部分。它不但保留了中华民族在历史上创造的科学技术,也有自己的独创成果。少数民族地区多为现代文明正在进入、传统文明正在消失的边远地区,努力抢救其文化遗产是十分迫切的任务。

Chinese History of Science and technology, as a cultural heritage, is created by all nationalities of China. The traditional science and technology of Chinese Minority is not only an important data base for research but also an essential part of Chinese History of Science and Technology. It has absorbed the advanced science and technology of China, and has developed with its own unique achievement. The Chinese Minority mostly inhabits in distant area where modem civilization is penetrating, while traditional civilization is fading. Therefore, it is greatly urgent to save their traditional cultural heritage.
