American community colleges have played an important role in education development for their openness,multidiscipline,comprehensiveness,service and wide adaptation.Moreover,it's of great significance to the economic development and the popularization of higher education of U.S,which is considered to be one of the biggest achievements of American education.The paper compares and contrasts American community education with Chinese self-taught education,and discusses reforms of the system to resolve its existing problems.
