It is an extraordinarily realistic problem, which requires meticulous attitude, for Hainan higher learn- ing institutions to seize the precious and rare opportunity at the beginning of this century to hold a position in China＇ s higher education. Based on Chinese university ranking provided by www. netbig, corn, this paper comprehensively analyzes the status of Hainan higher education in national higher education and the relative positions of Hainan higher learning institutions among higher education institutions in China, discusses the current development and problems of Hainan higher education, and finally proposes suggestions and solutions respectively.
