论太平天国科举考试的特点及意义——对传统科举的挑战与冲击

On the Characteristics and Significance of the Imperial Examination System of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom

太平天国的科举考试制度,既与传统的科举制度有所相似,又有其自己的特点。它更多地打破了旧科举的一些限制,力图体现自身特色,特别是它所倡导的平均主义、开设女科等举措无疑加速了清末科举制的废除进程。所以从某种程度上来说,太平天国的科举制考试是古代科举考试和近现代考试制度的一个分水岭。

The imperial examination system of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom is not only similar to the traditional exam, but also has its own features. It attempts to break the limit of the old one and shows its own characteristics, especially in the equalitarianism ideal advocated from beginning to end. So it can be called to some degree the watershed between the traditional and modern imperial examination system.
