Rupture is one of the core categories of New Historicism. As a duality conception, it is critical objects on the one hand and critical methods on the other hand. By means of Rupture to analyze texts, it queries the texts that seemed integrity and smooth and gives a new interqretation to history existing as texts; meanwhile, it offers reflective criticism of the truth controlled by modern social ideology. It creates an opening space of research and provides a new perspective of understanding the criticism genre comprehensively.
