摘要
在文学结构主义者看来,二项对立是意义和叙事的起点,它规定了文本的叙事结构。自然意象和服饰意象是《李尔王》中主要的意象,它们扩大了该剧的悲剧意义,标示着人物地位和命运的变化,与剧作的主题密切相连。有序和混乱是这两种意象中最基本的二项对立,以此为起点,该剧的叙事结构可以归纳为:有序被打乱到混乱,再从混乱恢复到有序,这也是《李尔王》的深刻主题所在。
To structuralists, binary oppositions are start of signification and narrative, governing the narrative structure of a text. Nature and clothes images are significant in King Lear which on the one hand universalize the tragic meaning of the play and on the other, indicate the shift of characters' positions and fates, accordingly, are greatly related to the theme of the tragedy. Order and disorder are the basic binary oppositions of the two kinds of imagery and take which as a start, the narrative structure of the tragedy can be concluded as: order falls into chaos, yet is rehabilitated to order finally again; this is also the theme of the play.
