The Teacher in Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament narrates all the vanities of the world, which reveals his pessimistic mood and some doubts about life. However, his pessimistic thought, which is not identical with pessimism and nihilism, is also not paradoxical with his hedonistic point of view. With his lifelong thoughts and wisdom, he sees through all the mists of real world and advise people “under the sun” to extricate from vanities through the unwavering belief of God.
