The lines in the Chinese paintings were just used to draw the sketches of figures or outlines at the very beginning. With the development of painting, they were gradually given more and more functions and contents. Not only were they required to display the object clearly, but also to show its implication and spirit in order to declare the emotion of human being. Thus they were mechanically classified into categories to match the implications. On the one hand, they are free to write and draw in Chinese calligraphy, on the other, in Chinese painting, they sometimes win big honor with the help of colour and composition, and sometimes get a lot of explanations from the so-called celebrities. Finally, they get confused.
