The Understanding of Culture as an Effectively Historical Event: An Ontological Interpretation

在方法论诠释学和本体论诠释学两种思维模式的观照下,"文化理解"一语具有不同的含义。从本体论诠释学的视角考察,文化理解的实质就是人这一存在者对其存在的当下把握和对其未来的筹划。对文化的理解不能用认识方法论上的正确与否评判,它具有多元性:在文化理解的历史性维度上,它表现为这种理解在内容和意义方面的多元性;在以对话方式体现的文化理解的本体论诠释学循环里,它表现为参与主体的多元性。文化理解本身是一种效果历史事件,它始终参与并影响着历史。

The ontological understanding of culture is different from that under the epistemological perspective. It shows one＇s currently controlling of his existence and the plan of his future. The understanding of culture cannot be judged as correct or false according to the criterion of epistemology. In fact, it is multi- dimensional： it is represented through different contents and meanings on the historical dimension and shows us the multiple subject of understanding in the circle of ontological hermeneutics. The understanding of culture is some kind of effectively historical event in nature. And it always exists in and impacts on the history.
