简述了巨型油船（ＶＬＣＣ）国际市场的发展趋势，并从该类型船舶结构特点及结合工厂工艺出发，对我国建造巨型油船的钢板定尺问题进行了探讨，提出了初步的设想。
The developing trend at world market is briefed.The cut lengths of steel plate for building a very large crude oil carrier(VLCC)is discussed,and a tentative idea is proposed in terms of the structural characters of this type ship and its adopted manufacturing process.
