Tang Jiyao and the Starting of the Movement for Nation Protection

多年来,唐继尧与护国运动问题,因为挺蔡、卫唐两派各呈利己之词,以致研究者也难窥其全貌,而一般人在挺蔡派居于主导之下,几对唐继尧熟视无睹。唐继尧对护国运动的发动,在其反袁和争夺天下的心理作用下,作了揽才、整军等许多准备工作,使云南成为各方反袁力量瞩目的中心,唐也在事实上成为了护国运动的中心人物。

We were difficult to know the truth about on the question between of Tang Jiyao and Movement for Nation Protection. Because of the two standpoints disagree with each other, one point supports Cai Er and the other point supports Tang Jiyao. In the past many years, most people believed in Cai was the key man of the Movement for Nation Protection, and ignored Tang. In fact, Tang had done many works for the starting of the Movement for Nation Protection, such as assembly of leaders, trained army. Those works had Yunnan become the center of the strength against Yuan Shikai＇ s rtder, and had Tang become one of key many of the Movement for Nation Protection.
