石渠阁会议与白虎观会议性质新探

A Research on the Nature of The Shiquge (石渠阁) Conference and Baihuguan (白虎观) Conference

对于西汉时的石渠阁会议与东汉时的白虎观会议,学界大多认为是宣、章二帝为了统一经义、统一经学而召开的。然而经过考证可以发现,宣、章二帝并没有统一经义的意愿,两次会议也绝非是为统一经义而召开,它们只是大规模的学术讨论会而已。在会议上,学者各持己见、互相辩难,即使不敌,其学说也并不会被罢黜、被取缔。

There were two important academic conferences during Han Dynasties. One is Shiquge （石渠阁） Conference of the Western Han Dynasty,the other is Baihuguan（白虎观） Conference of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Most scholars consider that the two conferences were hold to unify the study of Confucian classics by Emperor Xuan（宣帝） and Emperor Zhang（章帝）. However, the author argues that the two emperors didn＇t intend to unify Confucian classics argumentation,and the two conferences were merely large -scale academic symposiums. Scholars stuck to their own views and debated some questions among them on the meetings. Even if they couldn＇ t win the debate,their theories wouldn＇ t be banned.
