普鲁塔克《名人传》的创作意图和方法新探

摘要 普鲁塔克的《名人传》自古至今广为流传,是希腊古典著作中最受欢迎的作品之一。普鲁塔克撰写《名人传》的目的似乎只是教育世人,为世人和统治者提供可以借鉴的楷模,除此之外并无其他目的。《名人传》的写作方法与作者的写作意图息息相关,处处为其写作意图服务。普鲁塔克似乎并没有想要证明希腊人不逊于罗马人,也没有刻意增进罗马人和希腊人友谊的意图。 Plutarch＇s laves has been widely read since ancient the times. It is one of the most famous Greek classical works. The goal of the author was merely to set examples for the common people and governors to study. There seems no other purpose for Plutarch. And there is no evidence that Plutarch wanted to prove the Greeks were not inferior to Romans, or evidence that his purpose was to improve friendship between the Greeks and the Romans.
