摘要
提出了一种基于编辑距离的图像轮廓8方向Freeman链码模板匹配算法度量两个链码序列的相似度进行手写数字字符识别。通过对自备手写数字字符样本库的分类,实验结果表明该算法的有效性。
It is extremely significant to define a reasonable and effective similarity measurement for pattern recognition methods based on template matching. This paper presents a template matching algo-rithm based on edit distance for 8-direcitonal chain codes of image boundary shape. Similarity between two chain codes measured by their edit distance is used for recognition of handwritten numerals.Through classifying the self-provided handwritten numerals, the experimental result shows that the algorithm is effective.
