Ideology and the Exploration of Modernity on Chinese Architecture

本文从历史的宏观视野分析了中国建筑现代性探索的三个重要时期,即"南京十年"、"建国十年"和"开放十年"中国建筑现代性与传统之间复杂而矛盾的关系,指出意识形态的保守与开放极大地影响了中国建筑从传统走向现代的历史进程。

In the historical macro perspective, the paper analyzed the complicated and contradictory relation between modernity and tra- dition of Chinese architecture in three important periods - ＂the Decade of Nanjing＂ ,＂ the First Decade of New China＂ and ＂the First Decade of Opening up＂. On basis of this, it pointed out the conservatism and opening up of ideology had great effect upon the historical process of Chinese architecture from tradition to modernity.
