Study on the Improvement and Popularization of Crop Breeds in Modern Anhui

19世纪90年代,随着近代农业的兴起,以美棉引种为发端的农作物品种改良与推广事业拉开序幕。安徽作为农业大省也和全国其它地方一样,努力改良、培育、推广农作物品种,主要有水稻、小麦等粮食作物品种,以及棉花、茶叶、大豆等经济作物品种,有力推动了近代安徽农业的发展,促使农业产量增长和农民生活水平提高。

In the 1890s, along with the rise of modern agriculture, the improvement and popularization of crop breeds started with the introduction of American cotton had come into being. Anhui as a traditional agricultural province was making a great effort to improve, cultivate and popularize the crop breeds, mainly rice, wheat, cotton, tea, soybean, etc., like other places in China. Through the improvement and popularization of crop breeds, modern Anhui＇ s agriculture had made a great progress with rising agricultural output and living standard of local peasants.
