The worldwide research hotspots of denitrification in recent years is anaerobic ammonium oxidation which should be defined as anoxic ammonium oxidation strictly. In this paper, mechanism of anoxic ammonium oxidation was introduced. The worldwide research status of anoxic ammonium oxidation was discussed. Experimental design and preliminary results of author were introduced.
