Improving the Education of Awareness of Citizens' Obligations——a Strategic Choice of Democracy for the Development of Socialism

加强公民意识教育是发展社会主义民主政治的战略性基础性工程,有利于夯实社会主义民主政治的人文基础,有利于扩大对社会主义制度和共产党执政地位的政治认同,有利于社会主义政治制度的平稳和有效运行,有利于激活中国特色民主政治发展的内在动力。要在正确理解和把握社会主义公民意识科学内涵的基础上,通过强化学校公民教育、扩大公民政治参与、推进政治制度建设、内化核心价值体系等多种渠道强化公民意识教育。

To improve the education of awareness of citizens＇ obligations is a strategic and fundamental project for the development of socialist democracy ;it is of great benefit to the solidation of the humanistic basis of socialist democracy, to the popularity of political acknowledgement of socialist system and the ruling position of Chinese Communist Party, to the stable and effective operation of socialist political system, and to the invigoration of the inner power for the development of democracy with Chinese characteristics. Therefore, the education in this regard must be strengthened,on the basis of a good command of the scientific connotation of the awareness itself, by accessible means including improving the education of awareness of citizens＇ obligations in schools, encouraging citizens＇ participation in political activities, eccelerating the building of political systems and internalizing the core value system.
