In this paper, the concept, content and status of high speed machining technology were introduced, and its development trend was analyzed. And the principle of high speed machining was introduced, the features of high speed cutting and its requirements for machine tools were described, and finally high speed cutting application in aluminum alloy workpiece machining was present.
