From the existential Marxism perspective, Gorz made an in - depth study of the contemporary working - class＇ position and status quo, analyzed the possibility of social change, reformed the Marx＇ s theory on class struggle and finally put forward the theory of the new working class which maintains that with the change of times and the development of science and technology, the working class had broken up and some new revolutionary forces opposed to capitalism had emerged.
