The characteristics of the pragmatic characteristics of the historiography of Ancient Rome are prominently demonstrated in its concern with rhetoric and moral admonition.First,these characteristics have been directly affected by the historiography of ancient Greek,especially the rhetorical tendency during the Hellenistic period;Second,the early ancient Roman religious factors,frequent wars and growing moral depravity reality after the reunification have played a catalyzing role for the formation of the feature of moral admonition in the historiography of ancient Rome.Third,such historiography originated in the construction of the early history of ancient Rome from the historians,is of an organic unity between historical authenticity and non-authenticity.The above-motioned major factors have jointly promoted the formation of the traditional historiography in ancient Rome.
