毕飞宇自20世纪90年代初登上文坛以来,其创作风格不断变化,但"疼痛"却是其小说创作中贯穿始终的母题。毕飞宇以异乡人的生存处境作为切入现实社会和个体生命状态的一个角度,紧紧围绕异乡人的基本生存问题展开叙事,淡化现实生活中物质层面的苦难,主要致力于在文化碰撞与城乡冲突中表现异乡人在生存过程中体验到的疼痛,展现异乡人的生存处境与普遍命运,在对异乡人生存困境的冷静逼视中,审视历史与文化,拷问人性,体现了作者对转型时期当代中国的深层思考。

Since entering the literary field in the early 1990s,Bi Feiyu has changed his writing style constantly,but the ＂Pains＂ run throughout all his novels.From strangers＇ survival situation,Bi Feiyu delved into the real life of strangers and the real world.Based on the basic survival issues,he focused on the pains that a stranger experienced in cultural collision and conflicts between city and town,playing down the real-material sufferings.The author surveyed the plight of strangers to survive to watch the human nature,the history and culture,which reflected the author＇s deep thinking about contemporary China in the period of social transformation.
