Collection and Sex Indentification of Common Pillbugs in the Yellow River Delta

在阴暗潮湿、土质松软、腐殖质丰富的地方可采集到大量鼠妇.通过对鲜体标本的观察,找到了鼠妇性别鉴定特征,该特征容易识别,简单易行,这对鼠妇的饲养和生活习性研究有一定指导意义.性别鉴定特征如下:采集到鼠妇后将其身体翻转,观察不具有胸足的腹部腹面,若表面平滑,没有刺状物即为雌虫,若有长刺状物,则为雄虫;对处于繁殖期的鼠妇,采集到鼠妇后,将其身体翻转,观察其身体的具有胸足的腹面,若腹面隆起、透明、呈淡黄色,则为即将分娩的雌性鼠妇,若不具该特征则需观察其腹肢有无变形.

Lots of pillbugs can be collected in the shading,damp and porous soil of having rich humus. Sex indentification characteristics are found by observing fresh pillbugs specimens. The characteristics are indentified easily,which can guide the study of pillbug＇s raise and behavior. After pillbug is captured, its body is turnover, and abdomen without thoracic legs is observed. If abdominal appendages have changes,and extend like long spine,the pillbug is male. If there is no long spine on the abdomen,the pillbug is female. In addition,during the reproduction period,female pillbug＇s abdomen with thoracic legs is uplift,light yellow, and transparent, while male pillbug has no characteristics.
