Globalization and National Identity in Modern China

在全球化和现代化给世界各国、各民族带来机遇的同时,也造成了民族认同危机等问题,如国家认同意识的下降、族群分离主义和民族主义的兴起、民族问题国际化等。促进民族地区经济社会发展,形成公平、合理、开放的社会结构,加强社会主义核心价值观教育和民族团结教育,从而促进各民族的社会整合、增强国家认同,巩固和发展平等、团结、互助、和谐的社会主义民族关系,是我国建设社会主义和谐社会的重要方面。

Globalization and modernization are bringing opportunities for any country and any nation. Meanwhile, they are also bringing great challenges and problems, among which national identity crisis is one of the most serious problems. For example, national identity is weakening, separatism of ethnic groups and nationalism is rising, and problems of ethnicity become internationalizing. So it is very important to improve the ethnicity integration, enhance the national identity, strengthen and improve the socialist national relationships characterized by equality, unity, mutual aid and harmony in the process of globalization and modernization. All these are significant to construct socialist harmonious society in China.
