Ways to Improve the English Majors' Writing Ability

英语写作是英语听说读写译教学中的较高阶段。培养和提高英语专业学生写作能力是英语教学中的一个重要环节。文中分析了目前学生在英语写作实践中存在的几个问题,通过实例的分析,提出了优化英语专业写作教学的几个途径。

Enghsh writing is an advanced stage of five English skills： listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating. To culti- vate and improve the writing ability of English majors is a key link in English teaching. The paper analyzes several major problems with the students＇ English writing practice. Based on the analysis ,the paper proposes several ways of improving teaching of English writing for the English majors.
