Aquilaria sinensis, classified as Thymelacaceae, a kind of china＇ s special local tree and rare medicinal plant, has significant economic value and broad market prospect. The research advances on Aquilaria sinensis in recent years were reviewed, including biological characteristics, propagation technique, chemical composition, aroma-producing mechanism, genetic diversity, etc. Some suggestions on the ihrther research and development of Aquilaria sinensis were put forward.
