Importance of quality tobacco leaves with specific characteristics to the production of Chinese-style cigarettes and the development of key brands was analyzed. Suggestions were made with regards to strategies on developing quality tobacco leaves were provided based on the analysis. Details of leaf production based on both theory and advanced technology were discussed and proposals were made for both cigarette manufactures and tobacco growers.
