Indirect speech act, as a typical phenomenon in language use, is used to express in a polite manner what is said, especially orders, refusal, criticism and hints. In Japanese movie dialogues, which often take the shape of conversations, indirect speech act plays a big and important part, which reflects Japanese people＇ s personality, thoughts, psychology and the Japanese culture.
