吐蕃统治敦煌时期对佛教的扶植及其影响

The Fostering Policy to Buddhism during the Tibetan Occupation of Dunhuang and Its Influence

吐蕃统治敦煌时期崇信佛教并极力扶植佛教的发展,从该时期敦煌寺院、僧人数量的增加、寺院经济的繁盛、僧侣政治社会地位的提高及兴盛的写经事业等方面都体现了敦煌佛教在吐蕃政权扶植下的发展。另一方面,佛教的发展也实现了吐蕃政权企图利用佛教来维护其政治军事统治的目的。佛教的全面推行对吐蕃赞普权威的加强、敦煌地区民族矛盾的缓和、社会的稳定都表现了积极有利的一面,延缓了吐蕃政权在敦煌地区的统治。

Believing in Buddhism,the ruling class of the Tibetan fostered it development during their occupation of Dunhuang area,which were reflected in some respects such as the increase in the number of monks,the bloom of temple economy,the improvement of monks＇ political and social status,and the flourishing verse transcription.On the other hand,the development of Buddhism in Dunhuang area realized Tibetan authority＇s aim to maintain its military rule with Buddhism.The full implementation of Buddhism in Dunhuang area had positive effect in enhancing the Tibetan authority,easing ethnic conflicts,and realising of stability of society there.Therefore it extended Tibetan＇s rule in Dunhuang area.
