General Discussion on Disposition of the Cultural Education in College English Teaching

文化教育导入大学英语教学是语言与文化之密切关系使然,更是时代发展的必要。文化教育旨在培养学生跨文化意识,增强学生跨文化交际能力,达到外语语言教学终极目标。鉴于文化内容包罗万象,语言教学中文化教育的范畴和方法要有针对性和实效性。唯此,大学英语文化教育才能和语言教学真正融为一体,使我国外语教学真正迎来大发展。

Both the relation between language and culture and the times require that college English teaching cover the cultural education, whose aim is to develop the students＇ cultural awareness and enhance their cross-cultural communication, which will eventually achieve the ultimate goal of the foreign language teaching and learning. Meanwhile, both the category and the pedagogy of the cultural education should be valued in respect of the rich range of culture. By doing so, cultural education and language teaching could be truly integrated,thus promoting the College English Teaching in China.
