南京明城墙历史悠久,设计独特,是前人留下的一份宝贵的文化遗产,保护好南京明城墙具有重要意义。目前,有关南京明城墙保护的法律法规不健全,城墙的部分墙段损伤严重。因此,在城墙保护过程中要加强对墙体损伤的防范和处理,注重保护中创新开发,开发中促进保护,同时更应不断健全城墙保护的法律法规。

It is of great value to protect the Ming Dynasty city walls in Nanjing City, which enjoy a long history and unique design, and are valuable cultural heritage. Nowadays, however, laws and regulations concerning protecting those walls are found far from perfect and some walls are severely damaged instead. As a result, endeavors should he made to repair and maintain the damaged walls in the course of protection, focusing on innovation, development and protection. In addition, constant efforts should be made to modify laws and regulations in this connection.
