Xin＇an Chronicles, in its true sense, is the first chorography in Anhui. This book is closely related to editor in chief Luo Yuan whose political views and personal knowledge and foresight determine the compilation principles and content of this book. It is characterized by more learning than adoption, citing examples according to subjects, elaborating names and descriptions of things, and offering accurate textual research.
