Rethinking on the Argument between Literal Translation and Free Translation

在翻译方法上,翻译界一直存在着"直译"与"意译"之争。直到今日,理论界还各执一词。本文简要回顾了贯穿翻译史的直译意译之争,探讨了直译意译之争的根源,并力图超越直译意译之争,转向动态对等论。

There always exists the argument between literal translation and free translation about translation methods in the translation circle.The theoretical circle still holds different views until nowadays.In this thesis,the author briefly reviews the argument between literal translation and free translation throughout the translation history and probe into the cause of this argument.What＇s more,the author also tries to turn to dynamic equivalence beyond the argument,hoping to purify the air of the translation circle.
