从提高系统的稳定性、减轻故障设备的损坏程度等几方面分析了缩短继电保护时间级差的必要性，并结合继电保护和开关设备现状分析了其可行性。简述了在河北南网中的实际效果。

From viewpoint to improve the stability of the system and reduce the damage of the fault equipment,the authors analyze the necessity of shortening timing difference of relay protection at different levels and their feasibility study,based on the current situation of relay protection and equipment.The practical results in this respect in Southem Hebei Electric Network are also presented.
