Nowadays, people have become increasingly demanding for the comfort of vehicle and safety driving. When the vehicle steers, the traditional steering system can not meet the demand of flexibility at low speed and the stability at high speed, but the variable steering ratio technology can effectively solve this problem. This paper introduces the current application and development of variable steering ratio systems and points out that this system enables the vehicles to possess intellectual ability, which enhances the driving safety and comfort. The variable steering ratio technology represents the mainstream of the steering system in the future.
