“江郎才尽”的身份误读——兼议历史语境下古代文人的人生悖论

Misunderstanding of Jiang yan's Status and Literary Talent Being Exhausted

对江淹的身份误读使我们对"江郎才尽"惋惜至今。在文学史语境的影响下,大多数人把江淹当作文学家来看待,并以此来要求他。其实,江淹一直抱有强烈的"立功"理想,执著于政治人生,最终实现了自己的仕途目标。但人们一直欣赏和回想不绝的是他穷愁失意时的文学人生。古代中国的很多文人都陷入如此历史语境中的人生悖论。

It is much to be regretted that we have been misunderstanding Jiang yan＇s status and ＂Scholar Jiang＇s talent being exhausted＂. Influenced by the context of literature history,most readers considered Jiang Yan as a writer and set relevant demand to him. As a matter of fact,during Jiang＇s real lifetime,he always cherished a lofty ideals of making great contribution to royal court,strived perseveringly for political life,and finally he achieved his official goal,while what readers constantly appreciated and recalled is his literary life stricken by frustration and disappointment,which reflects many Chinese ancient scholars＇ life contradiction in history context.
