基于学习者英汉平行语料库的情态动词研究——以情态动词“must”为例 被引量:9

摘要 学习者英汉平行语料库为情态动词等中介语研究提供了两个考察视角,即中介语视角和相应的学习者母语视角。以情态动词"must"为例,从中介语视角考察,通过检索自建的学习者英汉平行语料库,发现中国英语学习者较多使用情态动词"must"的义务情态意义及其序列,认识情态意义及其序列的使用频率则相对较少且错误较多。从学习者母语视角考察既包括分析与情态动词"must"相对应的汉语部分,也包括检索汉语"必须"这一情态表达的相应英语。调查发现,双语转换时母语思维对英语情态动词"must"的习得有影响,但并不显著,对相关情态动词或情态性的运用掌握不足可能是更重要的原因。调查展示了学习者英汉平行语料库对中介语研究的巨大潜能。 Learners' Parallel Corpus offers two perspectives to study interlanguage: the interlanguage itself and the corresponding native language. Taking English modal auxiliary "must" for example, from interlanguage perspective, the survey of must, based on the self-built Learners' English and Chinese Parallel Corpus, finds that its deontic modality and the corresponding sequences are preferred by Chinese English learners, and the epistemic modality and sequences are less used and often misused. From the perspective of learners' native language, the survey, by observing the corresponding Chinese part of "must" and also by retrieving the relevant Chinese modal expression "bi xu", finds that there is a transference of mother tongue on the learners' use of "must", but not very strong. The findings show that the inadequate acquisition of other relevant modal verbs and modal expressions is probably the main reason. The study also demonstrates the great power of learners' parallel corpus for the study of interlanguage.
