程序性细胞死亡（PCD）是细胞在一定的生理或病理条件下，遵循特定的程序的一类细胞死亡方式．包括凋亡、胀亡和自噬性死亡。研究表明，PCD在急性肺损伤／急性呼吸窘迫综合征的发生和发展过程中起重要作用。研究不同类型PCD的特点和发生机制，不仅对于认识急性肺损伤／急性呼吸窘迫综合征的发病，也可能为其治疗提供新的途径。

Programmed cell death is a group of cell deaths regulated by specific procedures in response to different physiological or pathological conditions,including apoptosis, oncosis and autophagy. It has been considered as an important underling mechanism in acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome. Investigation of the characteristics and mechanism of different types of programmed cell deaths may provide not only better understanding of the pathogenesis, but also novel therapies for acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome.
