The course of ＂The Society and Culture of Major English-speaking Countries＂ is a professional one for English majors in the university. Because there are gaps existing between the course requirements and teaching practices - for example, more knowledge is required to learn but the time is limited, students cannot fulfill the course requirements because of their limited knowledge, and students pay not enough attention to the importance of the course - it is necessary for the teacher to solve the problems in the teaching pratice. Thus, effective solutions may be found in the aspects of consuming the time, adding new materials and improving the teaching methods.
