On the Argument Between YU and ZHAO: A Case in the Study of Dreams of Red Mansions

余英时与赵冈在红学研究上曾有论争,涉及红楼梦主旨、大观园、情榜等重大问题,极具代表性,可视为百年红学研究中的标本和范式。然而,其争论的问题,至今未得到有效解释,有必要详细剖析此范例,澄清相关问题,将红学研究推向深入。

YU Shi-ying and ZHAO Gang once argued in the study of Dreams of Red Mansions, concerning the important topics, such as the theme of the novel, Prospect Garden, love list, and etc. However, the topics they argued haven＇t been interpreted reasonably. To have a further study of the novel, we need the careful analysis of the cases for clarifying the relevant questions.
