Chen Xi was an important Islamic scholarly publication on the Hui people during Republic of China. It had varied columns and was rich in content. The intellectual elites of the Hui people were its main contributors. It drew much attention to the Islamic academic culture on the Hui ethnic group. It focused on introducing the experience of Islamic countries abroad. And it positively advocated the ideas of patriotism and loving the Islam and practical ideas. It had clear tenet and distinctive features so it was of high value for research.
