This paper discusses the nature and current situations of maritime rescue and salvage operation conducted or organized by the maritime authority. Atlenlion is particularly paid to the compensation relating to the use of social resources and the negotiation on such compensation coordinated by the nmritilne authority as requested by the party earrying out the rescue operation. Some suggestions are provided in this paper with a view to timely solving the problem relating to the compensation.
