An Analysis of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Struggle Against Isolationism

富兰克林.罗斯福执政期间,美国孤立主义大潮正汹涌澎湃。为了援助英法、抗击纳粹、拯救民主,他同孤立主义做了艰苦的斗争,并带领美国人民投入到反法西斯的伟大事业中去,同时也对美国自身产生了重大影响。再者,斗争中也凸现出美国民主制度的两大操作性问题:三权不平衡以及政策、舆论与民意三者之间存在偏差。

American isolationism was prevailing when Franklin D. Roosevelt was in office. To help Britain and France resist Nazi and came to the rescue of the world democracy, Roosevelt struggled against isolationism arduously and finally led American people to the great cause of fighting fascism, which at the same time had great influence on America itself. Moreover, Rooseveh＇ s struggle against isolationism also showed two problems of American democracy： the three power system was ill-balanced, and there were discrepancies among policy, public observation and public opinions.
