The Analysis of the Use of Euphemism from the Perspective of Linguistic Theory of Adaption

委婉语被称为人际关系的润滑剂。它对维护人际关系、促进人际和谐起着举足轻重的作用。从语言顺应论的角度对委婉语的使用进行分析,最后得出委婉语的选择是交际者对交际所处的物质世界、社交世界及心理世界进行顺应的结果。

Euphemism is referred to as lubricant of interpersonal relationship. It plays an important role in maintaining and promoting harmonious interpersonal relationship. This paper analyzes the use of euphemism from the perspective of linguistic theory of adaption, and comes to the conclusion that the choice of euphemism is the result of adaption of the physical world, social world and mental world in communication.
