摘要
《啊,拓荒者!》是薇拉·凯瑟第一部充分体现其创作风格的长篇小说,她在小说中超越了性别的限制与对立,采用双性同体的女性写作策略,成功地塑造了集男性气质与女性气质于一身的女性理想形象——亚历山德拉。本文结合双性同体理论对亚历山德拉的双重性情特征予以全面的透视,指出女主人公形象的建构反映了凯瑟对建立理想与和谐女性人格的渴望和探索。
O Pioneers.! is Willa Cather＇s first long novel which fully demonstrates her creating style. Surmounting the restriction and antithesis of gender, Cather adopted androgynous writing strategy in the novel to successfully portray a idealistic woman, Alexandra, who is a combination of masculinity and femininity. In the terms of androgyny theory, this article is in an attempt to fully analyzes the dual temperament features, and further points out that the construction of this heroine image reflects author＇s aspiration and exploration to cultivate the ideal and harmonious female personality.
