徐特立对湖南近代女子教育的贡献

徐特立早期在湖南从事教育工作时，积极参与女子教育，主张“妇女解放”，宣扬“效忠祖国”，坚信“女儿智力何曾弱”，提出“强迫入学”，并指出应“注意其特性”开展教学，有着比较丰富的女子教育思想与实践。他曾在梨江高小设立女子班，担任周氏女塾教员，创办长沙女子师范学校，以及担任湖南省立第一女子师范学校校长，为湖南近代女子教育的发展做出了较大的贡献。
